– What do you want to be when you grow up? That’s what a recently held event at Erwin Middle School was supposed to help students answer. Career Day, held on Friday, April 12th, featured several different professionals and business owners who came out showcase their career opportunity to the kids.

“We as a school want to thank you all so much for your time with our Erwin Middle students on April 12th for our Career Day,” said Linnea Burgevin, Community School Coordinator at school, in an email. “It was meaningful for them particularly to set goals and realistically think about how they will achieve college and career preparedness as young adults.”

She also shared some feedback about the event from a couple of the students. “This kind of help from our community helps me think about my future,” said a student. Another said, “It sparks our interest for our dreams.” Burgevin added the administration at school “…look forward to our continued partnership with you all as a Community School, and hosting you again next year!”
