Leicester – There are turkey’s, and then there are “monster” turkey’s and Saturday morning, April 6th will be a day 7-year-old Timothy Marlor will never forget.
Timothy went hunting with his dad, Steven Marlor, and their friend, Robert Shelton. Steven explained he and his son were set up behind some camo military material and Robert was in the briers making turkey calls. Steven said, “We had five hens come out, and then he (the turkey) came out, and I had him (Timothy) set up on a bipod.”
Timothy says he shot the monster Turkey with a 20 gauge shotgun at 32 yards away. According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, the average weight of a large male turkey is 16 pounds. Timothy’s turkey is expected to weigh over 25 pounds.
Timothy’s mom, Jodi Marlor said, “I’m a proud Mama. God has blest us this year.”
The tom had six beards which are long strands of corse hair. Steven Marlor said, “The biggest was 10 and 3/4.” Timothy says this is the first turkey he has shot but has shot a total of five deer.
Timothy says he shot the “Jurassic” turkey at an undisclosed location in the Leicester area.
